London, Circus, Fashion.

It was London. It was cold. It was circus themed.
The Cirque du Soleil gave me all the inspiration I needed to write another blog. I know it really doesn't fit in well with my other blogs. But what the heck.
If it wasn't the flipping, diving, usual old trapeze that got my heart racing just a tad. It was the costumes. The slightly tacky, but full of colour and texture. It still was the "I can see your bum crack" tight fitting leotards, but oh so much more. I feel the circus has been pushed and pushed into everything it can go into. Circus music, Circus show, Circus fashion. Stop. Circus fashion? Sounds interesting to me.

I stumbled across Manish Aroras interesting looking collection from Spring/Summer 2009. Impact.. woah. Detailed, but still bold at the same time. Using classic, old fashioned patterns and an obvious circus theme throughout. I love being inspired. It just sparks off the little type writer in my brain.. go, go, go! Sadly the Circus is no longer the original, iconic circus known around the world, or how the circus is classically depicted, almost like comfort food. It has altered into a modern version. Maybe it was necessary, maybe it was just wanted. But whatever happened..

I still miss the good old fashioned popcorn and candy floss stained air, dirty and loud, but that was the circus.
