Fashion has always been a dream of mine. But has taken over my life so boldly, I felt it necessary to start writing a blog of my own. Forgive me as I am only just starting out. But this is only the beginning, of a life long passion.
Yours truly,
Lucia.
Fashion Contradiction
From the bold military jackets to the candy pinks and blues of this year’s spring/summer line. Fashion has managed to split itself two ways, or maybe more ways, as time graduates, the particular seasons catwalk “yes” and “no” seem to be opening up to appeal to a larger group of audiences. The pretty bouncy, flouncy ruffled skirts flirtatious baby blues and pastel pinks, have dented one side of fashion this year. Although one khaki sharp jacket seems to be also creeping onto the scene. Maybe creeping is not the correct word. They have slithered their way sneakily onto our pretty perfection. The ruffles seem to have basked long enough, as this year brings military, plain and boyish cuts, simply beige, khaki greens and more geometric shapes. Animal prints or as it mentioned in the February Vogue edition, “metamorphic prints”, fly like a butterfly sting like a bee with bright colours.
GO NUDE. It’s almost all about the fresh, yet coffee stained colour, mixed with army love. The clumpy shoes, with chunky cork wedges are perfect. Also think 1970’s over sized jackets, whites and creams.
In contrast a relaxed 1950’s with silk and soft colours. Sheer and floating, with more natural colours, a soft smoky evening look, with light looking texture and feminine themes. Prada has gone all soft and silky, with frayed edges and palm prints. Cling onto the sparkly numbers as sequins could be back, in more colourful, playful patterns, in Miu Miu’s new line. But for me, I am liking this army style. It brings girl power and a punch/kick, to this all pink lovey-dovey froo froo, makes a well needed change.
BIG this month, go army. I want to see the khaki, large slouchy jackets.
I salute you.
